Volunteering at Lancers

We are often asked by non-members from the public about ways to volunteer or help Lancers. As a not for profit, we would not exist without the donated time and efforts of our membership, but we do understand that there are plenty of other folks who want to help out in any way they can! The safety of our riders, visitors and our horses is of the utmost importance to us. For this reason, volunteer opportunities for non-members involving direct contact with the horses are limited. Below are a few ways friends and family of members as well as the general public can help keep Lancers around for generations to come.

Volunteering is easiest if you are associated with a member of Lancers. Members are encouraged to have friends and family help out with clean up days, shavings deliveries, events and fundraisers throughout the year.

If you are not associated with a member, you can still help out! Our therapeutic riding program is always looking for reliable volunteers to help out with their programming. We also have some public events which we can use a helping hand with! Our Downtown Horse show is the biggest fundraiser we have all year and we need sponsorship for all of our classes. We need people to reach out to local business for support. Our other major fundraisers are our Wine and Cheese event and Chase the Ace. Both of these events need ticket sellers. The wine and cheese event has a silent auction and we will need donations for this. The Chase the Ace also requires ticket sellers and an audience on Sundays at Freeman’s on Grafton.
