Downtown Horse Show

Halifax Lancers, established in 1936, is celebrating 90 years of building better lives through horses. We are a non-profit equestrian centre in the heart of Halifax with an active therapeutic riding program, junior and adult lessons, Musical Ride performances, and Equine Supported Wellness. In the summer, we host public barn tours and workshops. We encourage the public to interact with the “Horses of Halifax”. Lancers and the stables are integral parts of Halifax’s prime tourist area and the Annual Downtown Horse Show is a spectacular event in the heart of the city!

The 35th Annual Downtown Horse Show will take place on Sunday, July 26th. The Downtown Horse Show is a day long equestrian competition, where competitors from Lancers, along with outside entries, will compete in a variety of events with horses and ponies. The show presents a unique opportunity to bring your family and friends to witness a traditionally rural competition right in the core of Downtown Halifax.


The event begins at 8:30am and will continue throughout the day, culminating in the afternoon with the Jumper Classes.

This will be Lancers’ 35th year hosting the Downtown Horse Show, a showing experience like none other in the Maritimes! Come experience the city with your horse!
