Land Acknowledgement

Halifax Lancers' programming takes place in Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaq people. The territory is covered by the Treaty of Peace and Friendship, which Mi'kmaq and Maliseet People first signed with the British crown in 1725.

We are eternally grateful that we are able to live in this place and work with horses, powerful and majestic animals who inspire us and teach us to care about others, think less about ourselves, and respect and cherish nature.

We also respectfully acknowledge the rich history and legacies of Black people/African Nova Scotian communities who have contributed to this territory for over 400 years.
